When will we have a thinking machine?
Despite some advances, the early robots had certain weaknesses. They were given the information they needed on a 11 . This was known as the ‘top-down’ approach and enabled them to do certain tasks but they were unable to recognise 12 . Nor did they have any intuition or ability to make decisions based on experience.
